Brentwood resident and real estate professional Jack Zelezny has created a mobile app he hopes will become a big deal everywhere.

It’s called “Vokal.”

Vokal provides a way for residents to vote on what they’d like to see go into empty storefronts.

For example, if you walk by an empty storefront and have an idea for what should go in there, the app let’s you choose from a dropdown menu — restaurant, clothing store, something else — or you can type in your own suggestion.

Zelezny says data gathered using Vokal can be invaluable to those leasing out properties. If the right leasing candidate is found, the odds of success work out for everyone — including neighbors who can then patronize a business they want.
